Mommy & Me Day

This week was mid winter recess for the children ( as if they needed more vacation) and on Monday a friend and fellow parent shared a 'mommy & me' day. We took the children for bowling for the first time. It was great until the ball kept getting stuck due to broken bumpers.

Or the bal just decided to stop mind lane. The kids had fun on the second game they got the assistance of a ball roller so that they could get the ball all the way without harming themselves. Also we changed lanes cause we couldn't take the broken number any longer.

Afterwards we went to IHOP by rockaway blvd. now let me tell you three hungry kids, two worn moms and one slow waitress don't mix well. We ate then headed home but before that we stop and the kids got ice cream.

All in all it was a good day.

My big boy bowling for the first time.

I love moment like this.

Game one I won, and the kids did very well for first timers and no assistance.

The second game ( with assistance from the roller ) my son crushed us. Way to go Chris.

The love of a mother

Hello all. My son asked for chocolate lollipops for his friends at school. It took a few hours but I made twenty pops, and fourty little candy bars. I'm wiped out and now don't like chocolate so much ... Lol

My meltor... $20 bucks

But I still do it the old fashion way with a mircowave and boiling water.

Oh what a mother wouldn't  do for a smile and a happy child.

Rainbow Loom

Ok... I'm hooked ( get it lol... )

At first I didn't see the hype. But after finally being bored enough, I tried it. It is actually a great way to take your mind off things even if it's just a moment. Now my loom isn't a legit one I paid $10 for the kit at Marshall's but beside is missing one peg, it was ok.

So here are some of the things I made.

Pencil grip

Flower bracelet

Triple bracelet

Anywho see ya soon.

I made cake pops!!!

I made cake pops!

So today I got my cake pop maker. (Yay Me!)  On Super Bowl Sunday, I went over my other mother's house and attempted to make Pillsbury cake pop kit, but it failed HORRIBLY. So After talking with my family we each decided we need to purchase the maker. Of course I had to go and obtain the difficult model.

My issue with this kit is that the white chocolate must not be wilton's cause EVERY time it seizes up.

I am worried that due to the fact that the cake pop maker is more like a waffle iron cause it rotates; some of the pops bake in two parts. I wonder if I had gotten a regular maker that if it would be better I will have to ask my friend once she gets hers'

After a LONG time of praying and working the chocolate I finally get it to be smooth enough to somewhat coat the pops and then I added the sprinkles while the chocolate was still wet.

I made a dozen vanilla chocolate cake pops with nine of them with sprinkle. I tasted one and it was OK.
My six year old son seemed to enjoy them. So much so that I had to hide the rest.

I am going to try a regular box cake mix and see if that works a little better. I also need to find a way to melt and dip chocolate. STAY TUNED :-)
